Time Spent in My Cottage

Thankfully, I was able to spend just about all day in my cottage, playing in my creative energy!

I organized my papers a little bit; I should probably create an actual system for organizing them, but at least they're neater than before.

The other day I made seven washer pendants (none of which I took a photo of!), and today I made ten more!  It takes at least 24 hours for the "glaze" to harden, and I usually wait longer than that to either wear them or photograph them.

I did, however, take photos of these beauties that I'm still just playing with.  I do so love the paper and wood combinations!

The paper roses are from a few years ago, so I just placed them on the wood pieces to get an idea of what they'd look like.  None of them are permanent yet.  

My favorite saying of all of these is "Courage, dear heart."  I just love that.  <3

Now it's time to iron my work clothes and get my head back in the game of school...we just finished Spring vacation and are headed back tomorrow.  Ugh.

No Oomph This Week!

Today is Wednesday of my April vacation from school and guess how many times I've been out in my cottage...NONE!

I think I'm in a little bit of a slump, both creatively and personally.  I don't like that.

I'm going to try and push myself to get out there tomorrow.

Welcome Spring!

It's been awhile since I've been in my cottage creating, so today I did just that.  First I did a bit of Spring cleaning out there, then I sat down and got to the fun part!

I'm back to making these fun glass tile pendants...and there are six more pendants in-the-making where these came from!

Loving these beautiful and colorful designs!

Hi! Happy First-Day-Of-Spring-Eve!

The pendants are actually images of nebula from out in the Universe!  I just love the colors and designs...there's no way to improve upon God's own creations.

I was so very excited yesterday when I found not one, but TWO adorable and quirky fabrics for some new pillows!

I hadn't yet ironed the fabrics yet, but you can see how wicked cute and colorful they are!

I started working on the pillow covers today, but my head was foggy, preoccupied and not where it should have been.  I should have known enough to put everything away and read or something, but I didn't.  I persevered, or so I thought.

Instead, I ended up wasting most of the fabric because I made mistakes in cutting.  

I came pretty close to crying.  

It will take me awhile to get over my mistake, but til then, I'm only going to read this weekend, not sew.  

Some days are better than others.

Lord, may my problems always be this insignificant.  Amen.

Hi!  I've been a little slow in the Etsy sales department lately, but that's ok.  It's a hobby for me, not a "job", so a little down-time is a good thing.

Part of me is hoping to find my niche, an item that fills me up so much that it's all I want to do! But the other part of me is quite happy being a craft-hopper, so here I am!

Newest items sold...

...black and white, pooch and kitty pillow cover, handmade, just for you!  Fits a 14" x 14" pillow form.  This sweet pillow cover made its way to South Carolina...thanks Karon!

...set of twelve gift card-size Spiderman envelopes!  How cool are these?!  Each envelope measures 3" x 4" and will hold a standard size gift card.  They found their way to Staten Island...thanks William!

...last but not least, these aDOGable (oy!) Chihuahua gift card envelopes made using upcycled calendar pages!  These are so cute for anyone who loves dogs, especially Chihuahuas!  These found their way to a town that's close by...thanks Jill! 

I'm not sure what my next crafting venture is going to be; I'm still liking the pillow covers though, so maybe I'll continue on with those.  

Here are a few of my newest additions...
